How To Get Hitched
1. We chat. Connection is important. You get a feel of how I work and make sure that I am a right fit for you, your partner and your wedding. We can do this in person or see each other’s smiling faces over a video call.
2. About 3-4 months (or less in some cases), we have our planning meeting to go over the ceremony in more detail. It’s very important for me to listen to your stories and have true knowledge of you as a couple. We talk about your family and friends and what is important for your big day. I can assist you in choosing readings and offer vow help too. This is also the time that I will start gathering information for the government paperwork and sight birth certificates or passports. Legally, this needs to be done at least a month before your wedding date. If you are not local we can work around this via Zoom / Skype / FaceTime.
3. This is the creative part. I will weave your story through the ceremony script. Your ceremony will be personal, warm, and engaging. We can work back and forth via email, updating any changes that you would like. You need to be comfortable and feel that the ceremony is natural for you both. I will be available to answer any questions that you may have.
4. Before the big day, we chat for a final meeting or a rehearsal. Depending on the location of your wedding sometimes this is via a video call. We will run through the ceremony and the structure of the wedding. Knowing things like where you will stand and the procession will help ease your nerves for the big day.
5. On you wedding day I will arrive early to set up the PA system, make sure everything is running smoothly, meet your photographer and venue team and welcome your guests. During the ceremony I am relaxed, calm and normally with a huge grin on my face which helps dampen any nerves! Then you will say ‘ I do”! I will give you a big hug and leave you to celebrate with your nearest and dearest.
6. After your wedding, I will lodge all the government documents with the Births, Deaths and Marriages registry in your state or territory. I can supply you with information on how to apply for your marriage certificate and how to go about changing your name if you wish.
